After completing school, Neil pursued a professional cricket career that spanned 14 successful years. During this time, he represented Essex County and played for the England team for 11 years. His international cricketing career took him around the world, competing in Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the West Indies.
Throughout his time as a professional athlete, Neil faced various sports-related injuries, which sparked his interest in physiotherapy. Upon retiring from cricket, he enrolled at the University of Hertfordshire, where he earned a degree in physiotherapy in 2003.
Neil then dedicated the next 23 years to private practice, specialising in sports injury management and rehabilitation, with a particular focus on myofascial taping techniques. His practice expanded to include managing injuries resulting from car accidents, especially those affecting the spine and related to whiplash. The high demand for his expertise in this area led Neil to become a Medico-legal expert, serving on the Medco panel for several years.
More recently, Neil was actively involved in the care home sector, where he has developed a keen interest in geriatric and neurological conditions. He aims to hone his skills in this area further while working with Align.
In addition to his hands-on experience, Neil holds certifications in a wide range of specialised physiotherapy techniques, including:
-
Acupuncture and Dry Needling
